Georeferencing / Editing Lab
Georeferencing / Editing Lab
Tasks
▪ Georeference images of UWF Campus
▪ Add new polygon and line features with editing
▪ Hyperlink a photo
▪ Perform a multiple ring buffer
▪ Create a 3D Scene
For this weeks lab assignment we were tasked with georeferencing three images of the UWF Campus to create a composite map of the campus as seen below. Additionally we were tasked with adding and creating new polygon and line features of the campus building and road systems. Additionally we were tasked with locating an eagles nest near the campus and creating a multiple ring buffer to denote where a conservation easement will be located as the campus is expanded.
Student Learning Outcomes:
▪ Georeference an unknown raster image of the campus to known vector data (i.e. buildings & roads)
▪ Interpret Residual and Root Mean Square errors
▪ Digitize new building and road features
▪ Practice polynomial transformations
▪ Create hyperlinks in ArcGIS to data stored on a personal drive
▪ Create Multiple Ring Buffers
▪ Overlay data in a 3D environment
